Four Awards Recently Presented by Chamber at Annual Awards & Board Installation Luncheon
(La Quinta, CA) The La Quinta Chamber of Commerce recently awarded Old Town La Quinta the "Business of the Year" award at its 2010 Awards & Board Installation Luncheon – one of four dedicated Chamber members presented with awards at the annual event. The Chamber has been honoring outstanding members with the Awards at the Installation Luncheon since 2003.
"We are very excited about this year’s award recipients and our new Board of Directors," said David Archer, president. "They all exemplify the Best of the Best!"
Among the other winners were Debbie Frazer, receiving the "Ann Kosich Ambassador of the Year" award for supporting the Chamber’s many events – always welcoming participants to events with a friendly face and warm smile.
Drs. Nicole Ortiz and Sonya Fung accepted the "Community Service Award" on behalf of their practice, Live Well Clinic. The clinic stood out because of its many community service activities, with the highlight being their recent "Desert’s Biggest Loser" program geared towards encouraging the community to lose weight.
Old Town La Quinta was honored as "Business of the Year" because of its many contributions to the community – including hosting and promoting many area events, supporting the Chamber’s many programs and embracing the Chamber’s mission.
"We believe La Quinta thrives when we all do our part to encourage people to come to La Quinta and enjoy all we have to offer here," said Leslie Locken, property manager of Old Town La Quinta. "I am so pleased to accept this award on behalf of Old Town."
And Desert Recreation District received the "Non-Profit of the Year" award, being called one of the "unsung heroes" of the desert for its support of kids of all ages with its numerous classes, camps, programs and events. Stan Ford accepted the award on behalf of Desert Recreation District, which hosts popular annual events such as the "First Tee" and "Soap Box Derby."
