Old Town La Quinta Names Top 10 Desired Businesses
Bicycle Shop, Shoe Repair, and Designer Consignments Among Tenants Sought on La Quinta's Main Street
(La Quinta, CA) Based on the demand of customers, as well Old Town La Quinta's own market study identifying the types of stores needed in La Quinta, Old Town has developed a Top 10 List of desired businesses at the restaurant and retail hub, located in the heart of the La Quinta Village.
The list includes: 1) A smoothie/frozen yogurt shop; 2) bakery; 3) shoe repair shop; 3) bike sales/rental store; 4) men's clothing store; 5) designer clothing consignment shop; 6) gifts/cards shop; 7) boutique pet accessories store; 8) bath & body shop; 9) women's shoe store; and 10) a delicatessen.
"A weak economy can actually be a great time to start a business, because you can get locations you wouldn't get otherwise," said Wells Marvin, developer of Old Town La Quinta. "We'll work on flexible terms with new tenants to help them get their business started in now.
Old Town La Quinta can help prospective new tenants with resources to build out their space such as displays and signage and expertise.
Marvin adds that a number of businesses on the list are well suited to a tough economy. For example, more people look to consign designer clothing and accessories as well as pick up gently-used designer items at a more affordable price. And a number of people have inquired about bike rentals and sales at Old Town La Quinta, so there is a demand for a bicycle shop.
"Old Town provides a friendly and supportive environment to start a new business," said Marvin. "A traditional strip center does not typically put a lot of effort into attracting customers. We offer marketing support and put on events to attract people to Old Town and help our tenants. If a business has a great product and service, it can thrive here."
For a small investment and a lot of hard work, new businesses can be very successful in Old Town La Quinta.
"We're really working to complete La Quinta's Main Street, and these stores and eateries represent the ideal mix to round out Old Town La Quinta's existing blend of one-of-a-kind shops, restaurants and services," said Marvin. "We've fulfilled most of our vision for Old Town, but we still have some blank spots on our canvas."
Old Town La Quinta is a picturesque Main Street lined with restaurants, boutiques, spa/salon services, art galleries and more. Old Town is alive with outdoor concerts, art shows, seasonal activities and a weekly organic farmers' market. For more information call (760) 777-1770.
