Old Town La Quinta to Host Yappy Hour
Canines and their well behaved humans on leashes will gather on the Event Lawn at Old Town La Quinta on June 23rd from 6 - 8pm to socialize, enjoy light hors d'oeurves and wine as well as raffles prizes at La Quinta's first Guide Dogs of the Desert Yappy Hour.
"We are excited about having the opportunity to make new friends and give residents in La Quinta and nearby an opportunity to meet our Ambassador dogs, visit with some of the puppies which are being raised to be heroes and to learn more about our program and services," explained Executive Director Roccie Hill. "We're extremely grateful to Old Town La Quinta for everything they are doing to help make this possible. It's going to be a lot of fun."
A primary feature of the evening will be the live auction of a six-night all-inclusive stay for four at Lake Mancos Dude Ranch in Colorado near Durango. Valued at more than $7,000, the lucky winners will enjoy horseback riding, cookouts, fishing, and a myriad of other day and evening activities. The entire purchase price will go to support the life-changing work of Guide Dogs of the Desert.
A raffle will also be held for prizes which include a 2 night stay at Hilton's Homewood Suites, $100 gift certificate at Wally's Desert Turtle and Golf for 2 at Desert Willow among other exciting gifts. In addition, every dog in attendance will receive a free gift. There is no charge for admission, but donations will be accepted.
