This ‘hot club jazz’ Trio is back by popular demand! A guest who enjoyed the “Trio a La Française” in December at Old Town said of Jeremie,
“He absolutely blew us away with his extraordinary jazz violin…I have not heard the exceptional range of Mr. Samson for many, many years. Please have him back someday soon. He is the caliber of…humm…well…above the McCallum Theater in my estimation.”
Inspired by Jazz Manouche, Jeremie Levi Samson brings ‘Le Jazz Hot’ tradition from Paris to Main Street on this special First Thursday event. Jazz Manouche, gypsy swing or hot club jazz is a style of music that has evolved from Romani guitarist Jean Django Reinhardt who played in Paris from the 1930’s to the ‘50’s. Reinhardt’s jazz bands played string instruments with a notable absence of brass and drums.
French jazz violinist and vocalist Jeremie Levi Samson has given over 1500 performances worldwide including major European jazz festivals. He is here for the desert season performing this extraordinary music as the lead in his Trio a La Française. He is returning to Europe in May—so take advantage of this chance to hear this great evening of jazz now!
