In Concert, December 6, 5 to 8 p.m.
French jazz violinist Jeremie Levi Samson (center photo) has given over 1500 performances worldwide across Europe, the U.S., South Korea and Mexico. He is performing with fellow jazz musicians at Old Town as the Trio À La Française on December 6th from 5 to 8 pm. He is here for the season after completing a summer European tour.
Born in Paris into a family of professional musicians, Jeremie started playing the piano at the age of 2 and found his instrument of choice, the violin, at age 7! He attended the Conservatory of Saint Maur and the Lille Conservatory where he won a gold medal and a development prize with honors. He trained under musical greats such as Wacheux Bernard, Julienne Vanhoutte and Radu Blidar. He also studied under the mentorship of noted jazz artists in Switzerland.
Jeremie created the Hot Two with guitarist Nicolas Lestoquoy and the quintet Swingin’ Partout with which he was twice a finalist in the International Competition of Ensembles Musiques de Paris. He also won the Oignes Multi Jazz Festival and has received wide radio and television play in Europe.
