Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5th. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s difficult victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862. In the U.S., Cinco de Mayo has become a festive day of eating popular, Mexican fare and drinking margaritas and tequila shots!
